Supports “Math Choice” for CVUSD Students

When over 200 math professionals state their objections to Everyday Math,

I believe we should listen to their opinion. I support the creation of a CVUSD

magnet school which would offer traditional math. Until that happens,

I support your efforts to implement a math choice program.

As mentioned previously, I presented your concerns about Everyday Math
to a joint meeting between Dr. Fraisse, the board president Dr. Stephens
and myself. Apparently the cost of the EM textbooks is one reason why the
district wants to continue the program.

I then am led to wonder, if we still have the previous textbooks used for
math, can we simply bring them out of storage and reuse them? This would
result in Math Choice having no additional cost to the district.

Also, I am in agreement with you that Everyday Math will be an issue in
the next school board election.
