We the undersigned, do hereby affirm our opposition to the adoption of the Everyday Math curriculum by the Conejo Valley Unified School District.
We assert that the Everyday Math curriculum is poorly presented, introduces far too many concepts with little depth, and does not encourage mastery of basic math facts or computational math skills. We feel that the use of this program is jeopardizing the ability of our children to succeed mathematically at higher grade levels.
Further, we vigorously support that parents should be given the "choice" to have students instructed in mathematics using a California State Board of Education approved curriculum aligned with the California Math Standards and annual exams administered to measure achievement.
